From the Rodeo to the Reformer

I have always been a lover of movement. Water polo, swimming, barrel racing in the rodeo, gymnastics on horseback — but it wasn't until I started teaching Pilates that I realized what I actually love is the study of how the human body works. Pilates hooked me completely.

That obsession led me to pursue a Master's in kinesiology with a focus on orthopedic rehab and adaptive sports. I wanted to learn everything I could about anatomy, movement science, and rehabilitation — and I did. But when I graduated, I noticed a gap: the Pilates community had almost no up-to-date resources speaking directly to instructors about human movement. The science existed. The translation didn't.

That's why I created Anatomy of Pilates. Pilates instructors deserve to feel confident that what they're teaching is current, evidence-informed, and grounded in today's scientific conversations. AOP takes years of graduate-level learning and distills it into the most relevant, actionable information for the people who actually need it — us.

“Through courses, mentorship, studio partnerships, and the AOP Movement Lab, I help instructors build the kind of confidence that changes how they teach, how they communicate with clients, and how they value their own work.”

The AOP Philosophy

Movement education shouldn't be about memorization. It should build the kind of understanding that lets you reason through any situation — any body, any exercise, any constraint — with confidence instead of guesswork. That's what AOP is built around.
